More piggy fun this week….

We had fun exploring our new outdoor area!

We have been scientists this week, investigating materials and we carried out an experiment to see which materials were waterproof and would be best for the roof of the house.

There was some fantastic predictions…

We have had lots of fun completing lots of different activities…

And another exciting visitor today!

We loved meeting the piglet today and asked lots of great questions to find out more about her and what she eats, how big she will grow and where she lives!

We then made some piggy clay faces that we baked in the oven.

The 3 little pigs!

We have had a great week learning the 3 little pigs story and completing lots of activities linked to the story.

Cutting and sticking clothes on the pigs, threading, building stick, straw and brick houses, measuring with cubes, making play dough pigs and acting out the story!

It has been lots of fun!

Phonics fun!!

We had great fun in our PE lesson being builders!

We had great fun making pig biscuits!!

Another chilly week 🥶

It’s been another busy week in Foundation Stage, we have introduced ‘Rainbow Challenges’ for the children to have a go at. There are lots of different focus challenges each week and the children are challenged to complete them all and make a rainbow with their lollipop sticks they get for completing each challenge. Why not ask your child what challenges they have been doing.
Below are just some of the activities they have been completing. We also started some ice investigations this week. There was some fantastic vocabulary being used to describe and explain what is happening.

We have done some word hunts this week where we had to write or read the word we found. It was good fun trying to make sure we found them all!

The FS1s have been enjoying their group time!

More fun in the classroom….

Tell me a story… 📚

This term we will be looking at lots of different stories. We have started with the story ‘Lost and Found’ by Oliver Jeffers. We have talked about the characters, the setting and what happens in the story. The children have been amazing at retelling the story in different ways.

The children made their own penguins to be able to use in the ‘Lost and Found’ role play area. We had to be extra careful when drawing and colouring them as they were quite small – the concentration and fine motor skills were amazing! It was even a bit chilly so we pretended we were at The South Pole too. 🥶

The FS1’s have thoroughly enjoyed some group activities and games this week.

They had fun retelling the story of Peace at last…

More fun in the classroom….

A chilly week ❄️ It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎄

We embraced the cold weather this week and made icy and snowy biscuits.

Exploring the snow…

We wrapped up warm and had some fun in the icy snow! It made lots of crunchy and crispy sounds.

Using play dough and decorations to make Christmas trees…

Christmas mark making…

In Maths we have been looking at finding one more and one less.

We also enjoyed some yoga and dance in PE this week.

Do you have a Christmas tree at home? Can you spot any when you are out and about this weekend?
